Detroit Edge is seeking a CNC Operator or CNC Machinist with a willingness to learn, exceptional work ethic and mechanical aptitude. CNC Operator Responsibilities & Duties

  • Read and interpret documents including process sheets, blueprints, sketches, and work orders
  • Load and unload parts into fixtures for machining purposes and deburring
  • Operate machines with proven programs
  • Monitor the production process
  • Perform and document In-Process Inspections
  • Move parts and paperwork to the next stage of production
  • Maintain work areas and equipment

CNC Operator Qualifications & Skills

  • 1-4 years experience in an active CNC Operating role
  • Good math and mechanical aptitude with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Critical thinking and a drive for problem-solving
  • A positive and a proactive mindset
  • A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
  • Introductory understanding of G & M codes
  • Candidate must be able to read and use inspection equipment & tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Etc)
  • Experience with Cranes, Forklifts, and editing tool compensation is a plus.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities & Duties

  • Set-up & prove out new and existing programs
  • Ability to edit programs at CNC control as needed
  • Vertical CNC Available
  • Horizontal CNC Available
  • Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches
  • Monitor the production process
  • Perform and document In-Process Inspection
  • Move parts and paperwork to the next stage of production
  • Maintain work areas and equipment

CNC Machinist Qualifications & Skills

  • 5-15 years experience in an active CNC Operating role
  • Good math and mechanical aptitude with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Critical thinking and a drive for problem-solving
  • A positive and a proactive mindset
  • A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
  • Ability to Set-Up and prove out new & existing jobs.
  • Strong understanding & experience with G & M codes
  • Loading & Unloading of Parts into Machines & Fixtures using Cranes & Magnets
  • Candidate must be able to read and use inspection equipment & tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Etc)
  • Editing tool compensation experience is a must.
