Pat Ebbing (Sales Manager)
Pat Ebbing (Sales Manager)

Pat has been Sales Manager at Detroit Edge since 2017. He follows in the footsteps of Five Generations of Ebbing’s, and as many Sales Manager’s since DETCO’s inception in 1885. Graduating from Marquette University in 2011 with a Business Degree in Accounting & Supply Chain Management, Pat started his business career in Wichita, KS trading commodities for Koch Industries from 2011-2015. Pat joined Detroit Edge in July of 2015, and hasn’t looked back. Working for his Five-Generation, family-owned business gives Pat a great sense of pride and ownership in a company that he will one day run with alongside his cousin Johnny (also 5th Generation). Pat truly feels that his sales staff is the most experienced and knowledgeable sales team in the Shear Blade and Machine Tool industries: “I could not be more proud to work with this sales team on a daily basis. Their pedigrees in the industry speaks for themselves, but every single one of them will roll up their sleeves to take blade measurements in a baler or help debur hydraulic press wear parts before a critical install. Detroit Edge’s unparalleled knowledge, OEM-quality, and lasting customer relationships has separated us from our competitors for over 135 years!”

Pat lives in Birmingham, MI and is a very proud husband and father. Pat enjoys playing golf, basketball, & tennis in his free time.

Justin Vernick (Blade Product Manager)
Justin Vernick (Blade Product Manager)

Justin has been with Detroit Edge since 2005. He got his start out in the shop as the Shipping & Receiving Manager. Shortly thereafter he took on the additional responsibility of floor foreman, and inventory control in charge of finish goods and raw material. From cradle to grave, Justin has been hands on with every step of the shear blade manufacturing process as well as detailed knowledge of customer’s equipment and shear blade needs. This has served him well when he was moved into the sales position in 2012 where he trained under the expertise of 45 year veteran Jerry Madynski (VP of Sales until 2015) for all Detroit Edge products and capabilities. Justin was promoted to Shear Blade Product Manager in 2018, and maintains that position to this day.

Justin lives in Clinton Township, MI with his wife and 3 kids and can be found on the baseball/softball field at any given time away from work.

Dave Blount (Sales Representative)
Dave Blount (Midwest Sales Representative)

Dave started working as a laborer in a machine shop in May of 1988 with no experience and no tools, and now (at the age of 50-something) scrap has been in his blood for longer than it hasn’t. He quickly advanced from Laborer to Shop Machinist, and began manufacturing scrap metal recycling shear blades of all shapes and sizes and unbeknownst to him, began building the foundation of his career in the scrap recycling industry. Dave’s natural inquisitive nature led him to question and learn not only what he was manufacturing, but the application as well; this experience combined with his desire to help people and establish relationships led him to where he is today. “One of my proudest moments was in 2002, and the first time I loaded 700 lbs. of shear blades in the back of my personal vehicle on a Thursday night and drove 11 hours so my customer could have them for install on Friday morning… it was just the right thing to do, and still is today.”

Dave lives in Bettendorf, Iowa with his wife Kerri and enjoys spending his free time with his pets and twin grandkids.
